2020 Retreats

I am thrilled to be partnering with Foxes Retreats to offer mini quilting retreats this year!

With a choice of two or three day fully catered residential courses, all classes can be fully tailored to fit your needs and you will benefit from dedicated attention and support to kick start, expand or hone your quilting skills.

Courses

If you haven’t quilted before, then my Introduction to Quilting taster course is the perfect way to try out a variety of quilting methods and techniques. Covering the core skill-set of the modern quilter, you will learn the basics of English paper piecing, machine piecing, foundation paper piecing and how to baste a project and quilt it using a walking foot. You will produce a range of samples to take home with you and will be given some suggestions on how to put your newfound skills to use in future projects.

Is there a particular skill you want to focus on? Courses can be fully personalised to whatever you want to work on, so get in touch and we can design a course just for you. Some of the specialist skills you could focus on include:

  • Curved piecing

  • Walking foot and free motion quilting

  • English paper piecing

  • Foundation paper piecing

  • Working with triangles

Space to Quilt is a two or three day break that gives you the time and space you need to quilt, whether it is finishing a long-time WIP or getting started on something new. This is time for you to work alone knowing that you can shout and have some expert help, whether you just need a sounding board or want help with a specific technique.
