Rainbow Fields Tester Parade

Every quilt designer knows they would be nothing without their testers, and I had another great bunch for the Rainbow Fields Quilt! They all absolutely knocked it out of the park with their colour and fabric choices and their feedback and advice really has helped make the pattern the very best it could be.

Ashlee Wiggins @kinandcotton

Proving that the Rainbow Fields pattern isn’t just for rainbows, Ashlee chose a fantastic colour gradient for her quilt! I absolutely adore blues and oranges together and the addition of purple and pinks here is just stunning. The use of solids give her top a really crisp finish that works perfectly with these colours, and I can’t wait to see it quilted!

“The Rainbow Fields quilt was such a blast to make! It’s designed in a simple, yet unique way that makes it fun to play around with colour to get different visual effects. If you want a quick quilt making project, this is it! It came together quickly and makes for a great baby quilt or fun wall hanging!” Ashlee

Jeanne Garcia @Jeanne.garcia

Ever since the Alison Glass Kaleidoscope collection released last year I’ve been tempted to buy a bundle of this pure rainbow joy, so imagine how happy I was when I saw Jeanne’s fabric pull! The stripe and plaid textures in this collection are absolutely perfect for the Rainbow Fields quilt and add an extra layer to the design - absolutely beautiful. Jeanne’s little quilt holder seems to like it too!

“The Rainbow Fields pattern is a delightful and clearly written pattern that would be wonderful for a new quilter but still fun to sew for those more experienced. The entire quilt comes together quickly and effortlessly to create an impactful modern design that would look amazing in any colourway. This would be a great last minute baby quilt and will definitely be going in my list of go-to patterns for gifting!” Jeanne

Mary Burroughs @embercraftcompany

When I was designing the Rainbow Fields quilt I thought people would mostly want to sew it with solids or textural fabrics rather than prints. Mary definitely embraced pattern in her quilt, and I absolutely adore it! Using an Fat Eighth bundle from her stash she’s made a really vibrant and fun rainbow, and just look at that incredible quilting - I’m in love!

“The Rainbow Fields Quilt by Cait Lisle Designs is a fun and quick pattern for a small baby or wall hanging quilt. The specific colour placements laid out in the pattern allow for an easy and beautiful rainbow gradient!” Mary

Meredith Eaton @oasissewingcompany

I’m not normally a batiks fan, but Meredith may have just changed my mind with her quilt top. The textures and mix of tones work really well together to create a cohesive rainbow with plenty of visual interest. Looking forward to seeing this quilted!

“Rainbow fields is fun and cheery pattern that came together quickly. Perfect for a beginner but fun for all levels, a great weekend project!” Meredith

Auli Siipola @Siipale_

When I was designing the Rainbow Fields pattern, I really hoped someone would make a sunset ombré version, and Auli made that dream come true! A beautiful and warm gradient quilt that you can’t help but smile looking at, she’s done a great job.

Natalio Gilio @brightquiltsstudio

Natalia’s sunrise-sunset colours are so calming, I love them! I really like her mix of busier prints and low volume fabrics and think they make for a very sweet finished quilt.

Tom Bathgate @thecolourblindquilter

Tom opted to mix it up with a ten colour rainbow instead of the full 15, and I have to say I really like the chic feel it gives this quilt! The cool muted greys and blues make the bright sunset colours sing. This quilt definitely packs a punch!

“Rainbow Fields is such a fun, cheerful pattern that is simple to make but the end result has a big impact. I love the visual effects that you can achieve by playing around with the placement of the colours. It comes together quick and simple and will make any recipient very happy!” Tom

Lilly Heigl @green_unicorn_lilly

Lilly went for a lightly textured rainbow with a dark background that just looks divine and really makes the rainbow ‘pop’. The light texture makes it look to me like the quilt is sparkling! I can’t wait to see how she quilts it.

“Really fun to make the quilt and the instructions were easy to understand” Lilly

And there you have it - what a wonderful group of testers and quilts. Don’t forget to check them out on Instagram and give them some love!
