Every quilt designer knows they would be nothing without their testers, and I had another great bunch for the Rainbow Fields Quilt! Proving that the Rainbow Fields pattern isn’t just for rainbows, Ashlee chose a fantastic colour gradient for her quilt! I absolutely adore blues and oranges together and the addition of purple and pinks here is just stunning. The use of solids give her top a really crisp finish that works perfectly with these colours, and I can’t wait to see it quilted!

When I was designing the Rainbow Fields quilt I thought people would mostly want to sew it with solids or textural fabrics rather than prints. Tom opted to mix it up with a ten colour rainbow instead of the full 15, and I have to say I really like the chic feel it gives this quilt! The cool muted greys and blues make the bright sunset colours sing. This quilt definitely packs a punch!

Lilly went for a lightly textured rainbow with a dark background that just looks divine and really makes the rainbow ‘pop’. The light texture makes it look to me like the quilt is sparkling! I can’t wait to see how she quilts it.
